Domestic Homicide Review

When someone has been killed as a result of domestic violence, a multi-agency review is carried out. Professionals who have not been involved in the case must review what happened so that we can identify what needs to be changed to reduce the risk of it happening again in the future.

If a domestic homicide takes place in Cheshire East, Cheshire Police will make sure the right people in the Community Safety Partnership are told as quickly as possible. After this initial notification, we use Home office guidance to decide whether we need to have a Domestic Homicide Review.

The Community Safety Partnership, is made up of:

  • Cheshire East Council
  • Cheshire Police
  • Cheshire Fire and Rescue
  • Clinical Commissioning Group
  • National Probation Service
  • Cheshire and Manchester Community Rehabilitation Company

Each responsible authority is represented on Safer Cheshire East Partnership and forms part of the Domestic Homicide Review Panel.
