Congleton Markets

Under a charter granted to the town in 1272 by Earl of Lincoln, Henry de Lacy, Congleton Market was founded as a weekly market. Now, Congleton Market is managed by City Markets and has 11 indoor stalls and 84 outdoor stalls.

Congleton Artisan and Vintage market: 2nd Sunday of every month, 10am - 3pm

The market is set up in the pedestrian area. The market has a mix of stall holders selling top quality specialist food, drink and produce from local growers, producers and businesses together with vintage, handmade and artisan crafts and products.

The pedestrian area is closed to traffic from 7am – 6pm for the safety of the stall holders and market visitors. The Artisan style market is being organised by City Markets and has been made possible with the assistance of Congleton Town Council and Cheshire East Council.

Rode Hall Farmers’ Market – First Saturday of every month from 9am - 1.30pm exc Jan

This market has over 75 stalls featuring local and organic produce and crafts, live music and childrens’ activities. There are tearooms serving homemade cakes, light lunches and refreshments. Parking £1.

Crewe market is a statutory market, established by the Crewe Local Board. It is believed to have been operating since 1848 when a cheese and cattle market was formed in Coppenhall terrace, eventually becoming known as 'Market Square'. The present market hall was built in 1854 and purchased by the Council in 1869. It compromises 47 shop style lock up units

The Indoor Market was established in Macclesfield in August 1970. At that time, long established traders on the traditional outdoor market were given the first opportunity of having stalls at the new location.

Today, almost forty years later, the 50 stalls within the indoor market hall provide a vibrant shopping opportunity, complemented by a further 25 stalls on the outdoor market held in the surrounding streets.

It is believed that a market existed in Nantwich as early as the eleventh century. The present market hall was built in 1867 with market trading taking place from both the hall and an outdoor market.

Sandbach Market - The Commons

A Royal Charter was granted to the town’s market in 1579 by Queen Elizabeth I. An indoor and outdoor market is now held every Thursday and Saturday on The Commons and in the adjacent indoor market hall.

Farmers' market: Every second Saturday of each calendar month, Sandbach Market Square is host to a bustling Farmers' and Artisan Market - 9.00am - 1.30pm.

With around 30 stalls featuring a broad range of products that have been created and crafted by hand. Many products, home reared, home cooked, hand made or crafted including dairy produce, meats, pastries, breads, confectionery, crafts, gifts and much more are displayed by traders who are passionate about their wares.

The Farmers Market has live music and traditional Victorian games to add to the festive atmosphere.

Artisan-style crosses market: 4th Saturday of each month - April to November.
