Visitors and shoppers

Congleton Market is in Congleton Town Centre on a purpose built site, next door to Morrison’s Supermarket. (Sat Nav Code CW12 1DB – Princess Street). The market is open all year every Tuesday and Saturday from 9am until 3.30pm.

The market is on one level with indoor and undercover outdoor stalls.

There is a large car park next door to the market in Princess Street which is accessed from Mountbatten Way.

The market was originally established under a charter granted to the town in 1272 by the Earl of Lincoln, Henry de Lacy, for a weekly market. Cheshire East Council have engaged their wholly owned company, Ansa Environmental Services Ltd, to manage the market in the interim basis.

Car Boot and Flea Market

The Car Boot and Flea Market is open every Sunday (except Easter Sunday) from 7.00am to 2.00pm. 

All stalls are undercover and parking is free on a Sunday in the Princess Street Car Park.

This is a popular weekly event with hundreds of bargains, and something for everybody. Catering is on site, and customer toilets.

There is also a separate Car Boot and Flea Market section which operates on both the Tuesday and Saturday Retail Markets.

  • easy access for loading and unloading

Crewe Markets

Markets in Crewe are operated by Market Asset Management Ltd. These include the Crewe Market Hall and Outdoor Market. 

Crewe’s historic Market Hall is now fully open after its exciting redevelopment. Now home to a mix of boutique retail, fresh food retail, delicious street food and its very own bar, Crewe Market Hall is now certainly a destination in the must-visit category for Crewe.

The Indoor Market was established in Macclesfield in August 1970. At that time, long established traders on the traditional outdoor market were given the first opportunity of having stalls at the new location.

Today, the 50 stalls within the indoor market hall provide a vibrant shopping opportunity, complemented by a further 25 stalls on the outdoor market held in the surrounding streets.

The Treacle Market is a quality arts, antiques, crafts, food and drink market, it is held on the cobbles of the historic old market place with over 100 stalls it stretches into Castle Street, Mill Street and Chestergate

The Mexon Street Market is a not-for-profit market run in partnership between Middlewich Vision and Middlewich Town Council. The market usually operates monthly on every third Saturday between 10am and 3pm. In November 2017, the market will be run on a Friday between 4pm and 8pm and will coincide with the Middlewich Switch On Christmas Lights Ceremony.

The Market is situated along Wheelock Street and has a mixture of undercover stalls selling food, arts, crafts and gifts. The market stalls are located between an array of independent trading shops and there are many places where you can sit down and have a bite to eat. Middlewich is particularly renowned for its cafes, local public houses, unique gift shops, quality hair and beauty salons, festivals and canal walks.

Parking in Middlewich is free and includes a large car park at the back of the Middlewich Town Council Building on Lewin Street (a five minute walk to the market area.)

It is believed that a market existed in Nantwich as early as the eleventh century. The present market hall was built in 1867 with market trading taking place from both the hall and an outdoor market.

Sandbach Market - The Commons

A Royal Charter was granted to the town’s market in 1579 by Queen Elizabeth I. An indoor and outdoor market is now held every Thursday and Saturday on The Commons and in the adjacent indoor market hall.

Farmers' market: Every second Saturday of each calendar month, Sandbach Market Square is host to a bustling Farmers' and Artisan Market - 9.00am - 1.30pm.

With around 30 stalls featuring a broad range of products that have been created and crafted by hand. Many products, home reared, home cooked, hand made or crafted including dairy produce, meats, pastries, breads, confectionery, crafts, gifts and much more are displayed by traders who are passionate about their wares.

The Farmers Market has live music and traditional Victorian games to add to the festive atmosphere.

Artisan-style crosses market: 4 Saturday of each month - April to November.
