Bin collection days
Changes to collections
From autumn 2026, we will collect food waste every week and black bins every 3 weeks. This means your collection day may change.
By mid-September, the online collection calendar will be updated so you can check:
- when your food waste collections start
- what your new collection day will be

Your bin collection day stays the same each week. Most homes have 3 bins:
- a recycling bin
- a garden bin
- a non-recyclable (black) bin
Recycling and garden bins are collected one week. Your black bin is collected the following week, on a 2-week cycle.
Garden bins are only collected if you subscribe to the garden waste recycling scheme.

Putting your bins out for collection
Put your bins at the edge of your property by 6:30am on your collection day.
Return them to your property as soon as possible after they have been emptied.
Missed collections
If your bin is not collected, check what to do and report a missed collection.
In bad weather, it may not be possible for crews to empty your bin.
Bank holidays
Bin collections usually take place as normal on bank holidays.
Collections do not take place on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day. Updated information will be shown on the collection calendar before these dates.
Bin collection points
If you live in Crewe and we cannot collect your bin from your property, you may need to take it to a collection point.
