Air Quality Management Area Map
Details on the Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) that has been declared. The area is declared on the basis of being likely to breach the annual mean concentration of nitrogen dioxide, which is set as an air quality objective of 40µg/m3.
Following confirmation from Defra, the Council has revoked 11 of the AQMAs around the borough due to the concentration of nitrogen dioxide being consistently below the national air quality objective. The Revocation Orders came into force on the 01 January 2025.
The Council will continue to monitor nitrogen dioxide at worst-case locations in all of the revoked areas, to confirm that the concentration remains compliant with the national objective and to gauge improvements in local air quality over time.
