The Mayor was invited to attend the Macclesfield Eye Hospital's 140th Anniversary at Macclesfield Town Hall. The Society has come a long way since 1875, but they continue to operate with the same core objectives as the original founders, namely helping to improve the lives of visually impaired people. By recognising the ever changing needs of people with sight loss and the development of new aids and technology they hope, with the continuing support of their invaluable team of volunteers, to continue providing this service for many years to come.
Wincle Church Fete was held at Mellor Knowl Farm in Wincle and the Mayor was invited to attend the Official opening by Robbie and Ann Brightwell.
June 2015
The Army Benevolent Fund held a Musical Display and Lunch at Macclesfield. The Pipes and Drums of the Scots Guards Association played in the Market Place followed by a lunch at the Town Hall.
Cheshire Scouts held a County Scout Sunday at Chester Cathedral with an Annual Parade and Service of Dedication.
The 2015 Well Dressing Festival was held at the Woodland Garden, adjacent to St Mary's Parish Church in Disley. There was musical entertainment, light lunches and afternoon teas served in the Church. Well Dressing demonstrations took place and there was an opportunity for visitors to create their own mini well dressing exhibit.
The Mayor attended a Citizenship Ceremony at the Municipal Buildings in Crewe. The ceremony included a welcoming speech and the applicants then swear or affirm an oath of allegiance to the Queen. The applicants also make a pledge to be a loyal subject to the United Kingdom. The new British Citizens are presented with their certificate of citizenship, a small token of welcome from Cheshire East Borough Council and have the opportunity to be photographed with the dignitaries
The National Care Homes Open Day combined with The Willows Annual Summer Fete took place at the Willows in Mobberley. The Fete raised funds for the Residents Activity Fund and Cancer Research.
July 2015
The Mayor attended the 103rd Wilmslow Show in the grounds of Wilmslow High School. The event was attended by local Councillors, Voluntary Organisations and local Charities.
Crewe and South Cheshire Local Group for Diabetes UK held a Garden Party at the home of the Reverend and Mrs Sambrook. The Group's fundraising activities throughout the year enable them to support the increasing number of people of all ages diagnosed with Diabetes in the area.
The Lord Lieutenant, accompanied by the Mayor of Cheshire East presented The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service 2015 to David Kent and Mike Jehan of Chelford Tenants and Residents Association.
Prestbury House Care Home in Macclesfield took part in the NAPA Fine Dining Experience 2015 where all care homes in the Country compete against each other to win the challenge. The Mayor was invited to take lunch with the residents of the home.
Abbeyfields in Knutsford held a Summer Party for its residents and the Mayor was invited to come along and join in the fun, meet the residents and be made further aware of the role of Abbeyfields in the local community.
The Mayor attended Dean Valley School in Bollington to present Frank Whittaker his prize for his essay on World War One. Cheshire East Reflects encouraged schools to enter the writing competition at the beginning of the academic year.
August 2015
The Mayor was invited to attend the unveiling of Cheshire Fire's newest station to service areas surrounding Alsager. The Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire unveiled the plaque.
A Trials Field Luncheon was held at the English National Sheep Dog Trails 2015 in Macclesfield. The Mayor was invited to a sit down lunch with members of the International Sheep Dog Trials and the Macclesfield Sheep Dog Trial Associations.
The Mayor attended a Morning Service at Wilmslow United Reformed Church followed by lunch. The Service was organised by members of the Committee organising the exchange between the Church in Wilmslow and the Church in Kerzenheim in the Rhineland-Pfalz. An exchange between the two Churches has been ongoing for over 30 years.
The Royal British Legion held a Summer Tea Party at Prestbury Beaumont Care Community Home in Prestbury.
The Macclesfield World War One Commemoration Group invited the Deputy Mayor to a Service of Commemoration for The Gallipoli Campaign 2015 at St Michael's Church in Macclesfield. The Service was followed by wreath laying at the War Memorial in Park Green.
September 2015
Wilmslow Library held three awards ceremonies for the hundreds of children that completed the 'Record Breakers' Summer Reading Challenge by reading six books over their summer holidays. The three ceremonies were attended by over 70 children plus their parents and carers and the Mayor was invited to attend the Ceremony, say a few words and present the children with a medal and certificate.
The Deputy Mayor attended the StreetGames Festival held in Manchester. StreetGames believes all young people should be able to enjoy the benefits of sport, irrespective of their background, gender and ethnicity. Over the summer StreetGames delivered four regional mass participation festivals where hundreds of young people came together to enjoy sports they've never had the opportunity to try before.
Members of the Cloud Group of WI's invited the Mayor to join them at their Autumn Meeting held at the New Life Church in Congleton.
The Mayor was invited to the Mayor of Halton's "At Home" which comprised a tour of Port Sunlight Museum and the surrounding village, a visit to Brimstage Hall and Shops, Dale Farm and the Floral Pavilion Theatre, followed by lunch at the Queen's Royal Hotel, New Brighton.
A host of ex-professional footballers and celebrities took to the field at Macclesfield Town's Moss Rose Stadium to raise money for the community which had been devastated by the Bosley Mill fire.
Sutton Ex-Servicemen's Club held their Annual Flower and Vegetable Show at Spooners Flats Field in Sutton. The Flower Show is becoming one of the biggest Flower Shows in Macclesfield and is a great opportunity for the exhibitors to showcase their exhibits to an audience of circa 1000 visitors.
The Mayor was invited to an exclusive "Behind the Scenes" guided tour of the Antiques Roadshow at Lyme Park. The programme was filming at the National Trust Park for its latest series which saw some of Britain's leading antiques and fine arts specialists on hand to offer free advice and valuations to visitors, who were invited to raid their attics and bring along their family heirlooms, household treasures and car boot bargains for inspection.
Crewe Lyceum Theatre invited the Deputy Mayor to the launch of Cheshire's magical pantomime "Cinderella" at Bridgemere Nursery and Garden World. The Deputy Mayor met members of the cast including Gareth Gates and is pictured along with the Mayor of Sandbach and Elsie Alcock.
October 2015
Traditionally, UK Older People's Day is on 1st October every year and coincides with the UN International Day of Older Persons. The main aim for the day is to be a celebration of the achievements and contributions that older people make to our society and economy. Older People's Day supports the campaign to challenge negative attitudes and outdated stereotypes. Cheshire East Council Partnerships and Communities Team organised a variety of events and sessions between the 1st and 16th October. The Mayor was invited to meet local groups at the Municipal Buildings in Crewe.
Alsager Ladies Circle invited the Mayor to attend their One World Festival at Alsager High School. One World 2015 is an exciting project which aims to celebrate the diversity of culture within Alsager's community. The event aimed to build relationships of mutual respect that cross boundaries; raising awareness and understanding.
The Mayor was invited to attend the 100th Birthday Celebrations of Shazia Freeman who is a resident at Hazelmere House in Wilmslow. Shazia as been at Hazelmere House for the last three years. She spent her childhood in Instanbul and her adult life in France.
Goostrey Community Primary School invited the Mayor to their Annual Exhibition "Somewhere Out There". The Mayor is pictured with children from the School and Mrs Ingrid Phillips.
The Mayor was invited to the opening of a new Sensory Garden at Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre. The Garden was planned, organised, fundraised and created by twelve sixteen to nineteen year olds over a three week period and was part of the Prince's Trust Programme.
Nantwich Royal British Legion held their Annual Memorial Service at the Layby on the A51 at Prince Hill, Bridgemere. The service is held in honour of six Airmen who lost their lives in October 1944 at Bridgemere.
November 2015
The Mayor unveiled a plaque at the opening of Nantwich Primary Academy (formerly known as Wyche Primary School). The Academy works with St Bart's Trust in order to further improve the school at a rapid pace to provide all of the children with the best education possible.
HRH The Princess Royal visited the Council's Independent Living Centre in Handforth on 4th November. She visited as Patron of the College of Occupational Therapists and met service users, staff and partner organisations.

Trinity Mirror Cheshire and Scottishpower Foundation joined forces to host Your Champions Awards 2015. The awards evening honours individuals, volunteers, young people, sportsmen and women and groups from Cheshire, Wirral and North East Wales. The Mayor is pictured presenting one of the awards.
Amplifon in Wilmslow celebrated 65 years as an international business and celebrated on a local level by involving the Wilmslow community as much as possible.
December 2015
Macclesfield's Royal Mail Delivery Office invited the Mayor to come along and visit the Office on the run-up to the busy Christmas period.
The Mayor was invited by Macclesfield District General Hospital to attend their Christmas Carol Service in St Luke's Chapel.
January 2016
Cheshire Youth Pantomime Society invited the Mayor to their production of Peter Pan. Their last panto, Robin Hood, won the ACT (Association of Community Theatre) North West Amateur Theatre Award for Creative Dancing and this added to the many other awards that they have won over the past few years.
Cheshire East Council held a poignant act of remembrance to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. This Memorial Day has taken place on the same date since it was introduced in 2001. January 27th was chosen as this was the date when the Nazis' notorious Auschwitz concentration and extermination camp complex was liberated by Soviet troops in 1945. The act of remembrance included readings, music, lighting of candles to the victims of genocide and two-minutes' silence, followed by the tolling of a bell and prayers.
The Mayor was invited to officially open the Natwest Bank in Macclesfield following its extensive refurbishment works.
February 2016
The Mayor is pictured in the Studio of Leighton Hospital's Radio Station. She was invited to go along to the Studio for an evening of music and an interview live on air for the patients of the hospital.
The Mayor was invited to officially launch the Macclesfield Pledge and Careers Launch at Macclesfield Town Hall. The Macclesfield Pledge is a vision that: "Businesses in the Macclesfield area will work together with the aim of providing every young person living, studying or working in the Macclesfield area with the opportunity to develop employability related skills and personal qualities whilst in education and then a choice of a job, training or further education opportunity when they leave".
Primrose House Care Home in Haslington held a birthday party for one of their residents - Mrs Edna Williams - who was 100 years old. The Mayor was invited to come along and join in the celebrations.
East Cheshire Quakers (Religious Society of Friends) held an Official opening of the Exhibition "War & Conscience: Choices Then and Now 1916-2016". The Mayor was invited to conduct the official opening and view the displays.
March 2016
A Coffee Morning was held at Macclesfield Library to celebrate "Fairtrade Fortnight 2016". A display of Posters by Macclesfield Primary Schools was on view in the Gallery for the whole of the Fairtrade Fortnight. 2016 marks the 10 year anniversary of Macclesfield being a Fairtrade Town.
The Mayor conducted the Official opening of the first Memory Cafe in Crewe at Barnies Social Centre, St Barnabas Church Hall. The project aims to create a cafe that offers a dementia friendly welcome, that will become a supporting network of regular activity. The Cafe aims to provide smiles, hope and help, with simple choices of refreshments, including freshly baked cakes, and will be a place to relax in a supportive environment, which also gives access to support and advice networks.
