Cheshire East Council is proud to support Steady On Your Feet Cheshire, a vital online initiative dedicated to helping residents maintain their independence, health, and safety.

This comprehensive programme offers practical advice, resources, and support to reduce the risk of falls and improve overall well-being, especially for elderly residents.

The Steady On Your Feet Cheshire website provides clear information and easy-to-implement tips for healthier ageing. As a tailored fall prevention platform, it offers personalised plans, home hazard assessments, and strength and balance training resources. It empowers older individuals to understand and mitigate their fall risks, promoting active and healthy living.

The website also encourages residents aged 65 years and over to stay active, take part in strength and balance classes, receive prescribed home exercises as well as education on how to reduce risk factors for falls, all of which are provided by One You Cheshire East.

Recognising that safety begins at home, Steady On Your Feet Cheshire offers guidance on identifying and addressing potential hazards. By making simple adjustments, residents can significantly reduce the risk of slips, trips, and falls. The easy-to-use self-assessment tool helps individuals create personalised action plans to enhance their home safety.

Rhodes-Jill-223x280Councillor Jill Rhodes, chair of Cheshire East Council’s adults and health committee, said: "Steady On Your Feet Cheshire is a fantastic resource for our residents.

“It not only provides essential information and support but also fosters a sense of community and belonging and I would encourage people to take advantage of these resources and join the movement towards a safer, healthier Cheshire East."
