Council asset ownership and management
The Estates Service manages council owned land and property. We publish details of all land and building assets owned (freehold and leasehold) that meet the requirements and definitions under the Local Transparency Code 2015.
How the Council’s property portfolio is managed, over the next five years and beyond, is set out in Cheshire East’s corporate Asset Management Plan (AMP). The AMP is a high level strategy that sits beneath the Council’s wider Corporate Plan and alongside the complementary Capital Strategy and contains the key service initiatives and aims relating to property.
Council land or property for sale or to let
We advertise land or property surplus to our requirements for sale on the open market to ensure the best price is achieved and any interested party has the opportunity to make an offer. A disposal of land or property may take place through a public auction.
Land not owned by the council
Land Registry can tell you who owns land if it has been registered to someone else. Phone Land Registry on 0300 0060411 (call charges apply)
