One of Cheshire East Councils community outcomes is to ensure people have the life skills and education they need to thrive. In order to help achieve this, the Council delivers work experience placements of generally one or two weeks for the young people of Cheshire East on an annual basis.
Our work experience programme is a great introduction to the world of work and helps young people develop skills and knowledge.
The Council actively works with Schools in the provision of placements to students.
Placements
The Council provides a diverse range of services, including education, social services, housing and highways and many more. This means we can offer a wide range of work placement opportunities and experience to help acquire a positive attitude and key skills that all employers are looking for.
We also provide work experience placements to Cheshire Fire & Rescue Prince’s Trust team programmes across Cheshire East.
To qualify for a work placement, you need to live inside the Cheshire East boundary or go to a Cheshire East School, College or University.
How to apply
Due to the extremely high demand for work experience placements, requests can now only be submitted during two set windows of time each year.
1st February – 31st March
1st October – 30th November
Please note that we will not review requests while a window is open. Requests will be processed within 2 weeks of the window closing, so bear this in mind when requesting a placement. It can take a minimum of 4 weeks to organise a placement and liaise with the relevant teams, so please submit your requests with as much notice as possible. Placements can happen at any point of the year and will be arranged on an individual basis. We aim to respond to everyone regardless of outcome.
