Guidance notes

Use this application to apply to maintain the green spaces that the Council owns. You can see the published schedule of Council owned sites on our maintaining our green spaces page.

The Council cannot grant permission for anyone to maintain  sites which it does not own.

You cannot use this form to request to undertake maintenance works to any part of the public highway.

Indemnity

The Applicant undertakes to fully indemnify the Council, its servants and agents and keep the Council, its servants and agents indemnified against all losses, claims, demands, actions, proceedings, damages, costs, expenses or other liability in any way arising from any activities of the Applicant carried out on Council land.

Insurance requirements

The applicant is required to provide the following insurances for all applications;

  • Minimum £1million public liability insurance

You must attach a valid insurance certificate to your application. You will need a digital copy of your public liability insurance to hand.

The form will take 5 minutes to complete.

Health and safety requirements

The applicant must make the following documents available to the Council on request:

  • Completed risk assessments and method statements for the proposed maintenance activities
  • Copies of all relevant training certificates
  • Operator licenses required for the plant and equipment proposed to be utilised (as appropriate)

Applicants must review the documents regularly. The documents must be valid for the duration of the agreement.
