Becoming a childminder

Childminders look after children for payment or reward, in a domestic property that is not normally where the child lives. Childminders have the option to register either with Ofsted or with a childminder agency.

Pre-registration childminder briefing

Cheshire East Early Years team are looking to support you if you are thinking of becoming a childminder in your local area.

We are running regular pre-registration childminder briefing sessions for anyone interested in becoming a childminder, where you can find out about:

• Ofsted registration
• Required documents and training
• How to apply
• The registration visit

These are usually held from 6pm to 8pm online via Microsoft Teams.

For further information, register your interest to attend an online briefing session, and a member of the team will be in touch to discuss the next available briefing date.
