How to apply for a school place

Applications for September 2024 can be made from 1 September 2023.

If you already have a parent portal account (this is separate from a Cheshire East account), you can log in and start the new application. 

If you do not yet have a parent portal account, you can create one on the parent portal.

If you do not have access to the internet, or need support to apply online, you can call us on 0300 123 5012.

Voluntary (church) aided schools may also need you to send information direct to the school.

Do not give misleading or incorrect information on your application - we may withdraw an offer of a place if you do.

Application deadlines

Primary (reception): 15 January 2024

Secondary (year 7): 31 October 2023

The closing date for on-time applications for primary reception and transferring to secondary school in Year 7 for September 2024 have now passed. To make a late application please call 0300 123 5012 or complete a form that can be found at the end of the booklet 'Secondary School Applying for School Places 2024' - School admissions information booklets. Late applications may be disadvantaged.

Late applications will be considered after all on time applications unless the local authority considers that there are good reasons for the application being late, which must be stated at the time of application. Supporting documentation must be provided.
