Bartec incab technology

Bartec is the incab system we use in waste collection vehicles and  sweepers. Every week crews use bartec software to help collect waste from households in Cheshire East.

Bartec gives crews live updates on their work, safety information, routing, and data collection. It also lets them communicate in real time with office staff and customer services.

What it does

Crews can see their rounds on the screen, along with other information like assisted collections and hazard details. They use Bartec to record issues such as bins not presented, road blockages, access problems, and contamination.

How it works

Safe working starts with good route design, making sure crews know where they’re going, any risks they’ll face, and the best way to approach each street.

Bartec provides up-to-date risk assessments for each street on domestic collection routes and highlights key features, like single-sided, reverse-in, and drive-out loading streets. The information appears in the cab as the driver approaches.

Bartec includes time constraints for schools, places of worship, and route features, so we can inform crews of any exclusion arrangements.

What this means for you

You can access their collection day information which pulls data from Bartec. If you report a missed collection, you will be notified if the crew has logged any issues. For example, if your bins were damaged or inaccessible, the form may not allow the bin to be reported as missed. If your bin has waste that shouldn't be in that bin, it will be marked as contaminated, not missed.
