Dog breeding

If you are breeding three or more litters of puppies in any 12 month period or breeding dogs and advertising a business of selling dogs you will need to apply for a licence from Cheshire East Council.

There are a number of factors to take into account in relation to ‘breeding dogs and advertising a business of selling dogs’ including number, frequency and/or volume of sales, high sales prices etc.

Refer to dog breeding licensing - statutory guidance for local authorities to see whether you require a licence.
