Cheshire East Council has teamed up with getsafeonline.org to educate Cheshire East residents in the area of online safety and security. getsafeonline.org are the UK’s leading source of unbiased and easy-to-understand information on online safety.

Cybercrime is one of the fastest growing crimes, with new scams and threats coming online every day. There are several million cases of computer misuse and fraud reported each year. Most of us that go online will have come into contact with one of these scams, whether we know it or not. Unfortunately, it is often the most vulnerable people in our communities that are more susceptible to these crimes.

The internet is an exciting place, but it is important to know how to use it.

The getsafeonline.org website is a unique resource providing practical advice on how to protect yourself, your computers and mobiles device and your business against fraud, identity theft, viruses and many other problems encountered online.
