Cheshire East Countryside Access Forum Public Rights of Way - Privacy Notice
What information we may collect about you
As an appointed member of the Countryside Access Forum, we hold your:
- name
- address
- phone number
- email address
- area of interest
- geographical area of interest
- and a photograph of you as a member of a group.
In addition, your:
- emergency contact details
- declarations made on your application form
- and details of any disabilities that you provided are held on record.
As a member of the public registering to receive Forum papers, we may hold:
- your name
- address
- phone number
- email address
- and area of interest.
Why we are allowed to use your information
The Council acts as the Secretariat for the Forum under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 section 94. As part of the appointment process of members, you have given us your consent to be appointed as a member of the Forum. Whilst the appointment lasts for a period of 3 years, you can withdraw your consent and membership of the Forum at any time by writing to us. Likewise, if you are a member of the public registering to receive Forum papers, we hold your information to provide the documents you have requested.
Who we share your information with
The personal information you provided in your application form will not be shared with anyone outside of the Green Infrastructure team of the Council, other than:
- Members’ names and contact details will be shared with other members of the Forum who are responsible for keeping that data secure.
- Members’ names, area of interest, geographical area of interest and a group photograph will be shared with the public on the Forum’s webpage and annual reports.
- Your name and comments provided at meetings will be available to the public in the agenda and minutes of the Forum which are available on the Forum’s webpage, with the meetings being open to the public.
Where we get your information from
You provided your personal information in the application form during the recruitment process or via communication to request Forum papers.
How long will you keep your personal information
We store your information for as long as you are an appointed member of the Forum or for as long as you wish to receive Forum papers. You can withdraw your consent and membership of the Forum at any time by writing to us.

How your information is stored
The information is held electronically on the Council’s secure IT servers with access restricted to authorised users only.
What happens if you don’t provide us with your information
If you do not provide us with your information then you will not be able to be appointed to membership of the Forum or to receive Forum papers.
Will your information be used to make automated decisions
Will this information be transfered abroad
No, other than via the information which is shared on the Forum’s webpage.
Your rights
You have a number of rights regarding your personal data, including withdrawing your consent where we have asked for it. You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you and ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
