Facilities at Congleton Library

Congleton Library is not only open for the loan of books. We have so much more to offer. Here are a few of the things you may not have realised we provide.

Computers and Wi-Fi

Apply for that job, book that ticket, check your email or just surf the internet on our public computers. Free for library members to use for an hour each day. We have fifteen computers, two scanners, and a colour printer. Library members can also bring your own device and use our free wifi.

Reference and Local Studies library

Look it up in our leaflets, maps and directories or explore the range of local history and genealogical resources. We hold the local newspaper, The Congleton Chronicle, dating back to 1858 on microfilm, as well as a number of Congleton Parish Registers (PDF 160KB) for you to explore. You can also relax with a newspaper or use our quiet study space.

Meeting room

We have a meeting room for up to 80 people seated theatre style. We also offer a whiteboard and projector screen. There is a small kitchen with a hot water boiler and cups etc. There is a charge for room hire at Band B rates, which vary during opening hours and out of hours. Please contact the library to make a booking.
