Library locations and opening hours
When libraries are closed you can renew and reserve items online - log in to your library account with your library card number and PIN .
Our enquiry desks and public computers close 15 minutes before the library's actual closing time.
Christmas and New Year opening hours
All our libraries will be closed from 1.00pm on Christmas Eve, and all day on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Congleton, Crewe, Macclesfield, Nantwich and Wilmslow libraries will be open for their normal opening hours from Friday 27 December, except that all five libraries will close at 5.00pm on Tuesday 31 December and will remain closed all day Wednesday 1 January 2025.
Holmes Chapel Library will also be open on Friday 27 December and Mon 30 December. All other libraries will remain closed until Thursday 2 January, unless they are normally closed on a Thursday.
In addition, Alderley Edge Library will be closed from 1.00pm on Tuesdays 24, and 31 December as there will be no volunteer sessions on those dates.
Changes to library opening hours
There will be changes to the opening hours for Alderley Edge and Disley libraries from Monday 6 January, and Handforth library from Saturday 4 January 2024. The libraries will be open as follows:
Alderley Edge:
- Tuesday and Wednesday 10.00 - 1.30pm
- Friday 1.00 - 5.00pm
- Saturday 9.30 - 1.00pm
There will still be a volunteer led session on Tuesdays at 1.00 - 5.00pm.
Disley:
- Wednesday and Saturday 9.30 - 1.00pm
- Thursday 2.00 - 5.30pm
- Friday 2.00 - 6.00pm
Handforth:
- Monday 2.30 - 6.00pm
- Tuesday 2.00 - 6.00pm
- Thursday and Friday 10.00 - 1.30pm
The table of opening hours below will be updated to reflect these changes in January.
