Addiction

Addiction can exist in many forms. If something affects the way you feel chances are you can become addicted to it. As soon as it starts to interfere with everyday life and you feel out of control this is when it can be classed as an addiction.

Addictions can cause withdrawal which often means you crave the action or substance in order to avoid going through these often ‘unpleasant’ feelings. As well as the physical withdrawal that comes with substance misuse, addicts often suffer from depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. The continuous cycle of addiction can be difficult to get out of but there is help and support available.
