The below table provides an overview of the range of provision available to meet Special Educational Needs locally:
Department for Education (DfE)categories of SEN
Following moderation of assessment – pupils shown to need special educational provision may be allocated a place in Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP)
Following statutory, multi-agency, integrated assessment - the local authority may find a need for a special educational placement - in Cheshire East or in a neighbouring local authority.

We aim to educate all our children and young people locally. However, for learners with particularly complex needs, moderation of assessments may identify that a particular independent specialist provision is needed. The local authority places pupils with some of these providers in exceptional circumstances.
