Babies Playing

Cheshire East Children’s Centres Offer

25 September 2020

Cheshire East Children’s Centres currently have a wide range of services, both face to face and virtually, being delivered for children and families during the current COVID-19 Pandemic. These sessions include buggy walks in a range of community venues for parents with their babies to encourage peer support and to introduce the parents to the services available to them. These were put in place as it was recognised that new parents in particular were not able to access their usual support.

Toddlers Walking and Together and Welly Wednesdays occur every Tuesday and Wednesdays out in the community with the aim of encouraging parents to interact and play with their child, allow children to play and socialise with other children and to explore and investigate the outdoors.

The Children’s Centres are also offering an Outdoor Stay and Play session at some locations and also opening up their sensory rooms.

There also a number of other groups currently being delivered including Baby and Me, Baby Massage and Play can makes a difference. Most of these sessions have been tailored to meet the needs of the virtual environment. The Cheshire East Parenting Journey Facebook Page and the new ’50 Things to do Together in Cheshire East’ website also gives parents ideas and activities to try with their children whilst they are at home.

We hope to be able to offer some small group delivery during October across some of our Children’s Centre sites.
