Our Supported Internship Film Stars at Siemens

Last year, the company – Siemens, who are based in Congleton, worked with us on the supported internship programme for the very first time. We had three interns based with them, in three different departments: engineering, manufacturing and catering. All three young people have very different support needs, and all required support from a job coach to help them learn the skills required for their job. All interns have been fabulous, and feedback from managers could not have been any more positive. Luke, Chloe and Josh all completed their supported internship programme in July 2022- and all three are now in paid work.

Siemens have been so impressed with the interns and the programme- they plan to roll it out nationally, creating lots of opportunities for young people, as well as supporting their own recruitment needs.

In September 2022, Siemens commissioned a video production company to produce a short film of the programme, to showcase the benefits for young people, and the advantages for employers. We launched the video at the end of September as part of their Disability Awareness week.
