Principal Educational Psychologist appointed to SEND Team

Cheshire East Council has appointed a new Principal Educational Psychologist who will be leading on current plans to grow the SEND team’s educational psychology service.

Dr Alex Brightmore has been appointed to the role following an external recruitment process and rigorous interview involving our parent carer forum.

Alex is an experienced educational psychologist and has led our recruitment strategy over the last few years - working closely with universities which has helped us to support a number of assistant and trainee psychologists.  

Jacky Forster, chair of the Cheshire East 0-25 SEND Partnership Board, says: “Alex is passionate about how the educational psychology service can grow and develop to further support children and young people and their families and our education settings. Alex has an aspirational vision for the educational psychology service which she will be sharing with you over the next few months.
