We want your views on our refreshed SEND strategy – deadline 11 August
21/07/2023
Our vision for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) is the same as for all children and young people - that they achieve well in all aspects of their lives and are happy, fulfilled and play an active role in their communities.
We’d like your views on our refreshed SEND strategy that aims to ensure that support is provided to children and their families in the right place at the right time.
Our existing SEND strategy has been refreshed after taking the views from all partners at three engagement sessions held in April 2023.
The refreshed strategy seeks to support the increasing number and complexity of children with an education, health and care plan and also to manage the budget we receive from the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) which is under significant pressure. The DSG provides the majority of funding for schools. This includes high needs funding which is for pupils with SEND.
We would now like your final views on this strategy refresh, before it is finalised and adopted by all partners.
Please take some time to complete our online questionnaire and submit your responses by Friday 11 August 2023
