Housing needs

Strategic Housing Market Assessments are a way of assessing housing markets and housing need. A SHMA was prepared in 2010 and updated in 2013. For the purposes of the Local Plan, the most up to date evidence on housing need is the Housing Development Study prepared in 2015.

Housing Development Study 2015

The objective of the Housing Development Study 2015 (PDF, 3.1MB) was to establish the objectively assessed need for market and affordable housing in the borough.

Strategic Housing Market Assessment Update 2013

A comprehensive SHMA for Cheshire East was published in September 2010. The Strategic Housing Market Assessment 2013 Update (PDF, 1.2MB) uses more recent 2011 census data to update the general social, economic, demographic and dwelling stock context of the borough.
