Clean Teams
We have a number of established clean teams who come together as volunteers to clean their local areas. The teams organise their own litter picks, set their own priorities and are totally independent of the Council.
These self-funded groups of volunteers are armed with safety equipment, litter picking equipment and many have their own websites and newsletters so that they can promote their activity in the local area and encourage people to highlight ‘grot-spots’.
Many of the clean teams have won awards for their work and have helped other clean teams to establish themselves too. They have also moved on from litter picking and many assist with other activities such as bulb planting and painting.
Forming your own Clean Team
If you would like to form your own clean team please make contact with one of the existing teams to gain from their experiences and to find out what is involved. Further information and support can be found at Keep Britain Tidy.
Equipping your team
Along with lots of enthusiasm and a desire to keep your local area clean you will need equipment such as litter pickers, bag hoops, refuse sacks, gloves and high visibility vests. These can be loaned from ANSA Environmental Services or they can be purchased by your own fundraising or through grant funding.
