National Supported Internship Day 2025

National Supported Internship Day 2025 is on 27 March. The aim of the day is to raise awareness about supported internships for young people who are neurodivergent or have learning disabilities. The aim of the programme is to help young people gain valuable skills in the workplace, and transition into paid work.

Purpose of the day

The day’s goal is to highlight the benefits of supported internships and challenge misconceptions about employment for individuals who are neurodiverse or have a learning disability.

Who it benefits

Supported Internships are designed for young people 16-24 with an Education, Health, and Care plan (EHCP) who are looking for a route into paid work.

What it involves

The programme includes a structured, work-based programme with a substantial work placement, facilitated by the support of a job coach.
