March 2018 local area SEND inspection
Following a week-long inspection (12 to 16 March 2018) of services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission sent an outcome letter to Cheshire East. This set out a requirement for the local area to produce and submit a Written Statement of Action (WSoA) to Ofsted.
A letter from the 0-25 SEND Partnership (PDF, 176KB) for parents and carers of children and young people with SEND set out our response to the inspection report and our plans for the WSoA .
Work has taken place across the 0-25 SEND Partnership to produce this WSoA , involving engagement with key stakeholders, including parent/carers and young people. Our Written Statement of Action was deemed to be fit for purpose by Ofsted on 23rd October 2018, and the 0-25 SEND Partnership are now working to implement and deliver our WSoA .
SEND re-visit
As a result of the local area SEND Inspection that was carried out by Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in Cheshire East in March 2018, Cheshire East was due a SEND re-visit from March 2020.
All re-visits were paused in March 2020 due to COVID-19. In March 2021 Ofsted announced that re-visits to areas with a written statement of action would begin again from April 2021.
Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) completed a re-visit to Cheshire East on 24 May to 27 May 2021.
We continue to gather feedback on our services from a range of stakeholders:
